Knowing that a product was made in a factory that has a social audit (such as BSCI) or that the materials used are recycled or organic gives the assurance that a product will not unduly harm the environment, or the people in the supply chain.
In an effort to keep pace with the green movement, our suppliers have been finding ways to address sustainability in their business practices. There are several ways they have made their products more sustainable, while creating eco-friendly promotional products as well.
Sustainable change in globalized supply chains can only be achieved in broad-based partnerships. PF Concept is a member of the Amfori Business Social Compliance Initiative (BSCI) since 2018. This is a code of conduct based on the International Labour Organisation’s standards that help global companies build ethical supply chains whilst continuously monitoring and improving social standards around the world.
When considering social and environmental compliance we do not only look to the vendors in our supply chain but also to our own facilities throughout Europe. Our warehouse and printing facility in Poznan, Poland, (PFLE) passed the renewal of its SMETA audit without non-conformities in 2021. The next step, also in 2021, is to extend this to a SMETA pillar 4 audit. Next to PFLE, our factory in Blackpool, UK, is also renewing its SMETA pillar 4 audit in 2021.
The GOTS –Global Organic Textile Standard– is the worldwide leading textile processing standard for organic fibres. This standard also includes ecological/environmental (f.e. energy, water, wastewater and chemical use) and social criteria. The entire textile supply chain is backed up by an independent certification and traceability is key in this process.
The GRS certification is intended to meet the needs of companies looking to verify the recycled content of their products (both finished and intermediate) and to verify responsible social, environmental, and chemical practices in their production. With an increased demand for recycled material in products, a GRS certification will give the end-user the assurance that this product is certified from source to print.
FSC® is dedicated to the promotion of responsible forest management worldwide and helps to take care of forests for future generations. The FSC® certification guarantees a responsible and transparent supply and production chain by also auditing the ordering processes, IT systems, warehouse management, staff training, and health and safety in the workplace.
If a garment or other product carries the STANDARD 100 label, you can be certain that every little part of this article has been tested for harmful substances and that the article therefore is harmless for human health. Our Elevate products are all OEKO-TEX® certified. In addition, when branded with screen print or transfer, they are printed with Eco Passport by OEKO-TEX® inks.
By using recycled polyesters and cotton. When using these recycled materials we save thousands of liters of water. But how can we be sure that we really use recycled materials and validate our water saving claims? With AWARE™ we guarantee the genuine used recycled fabric materials and the water impact reduction claim. AWARE™ is a virtual component that verifies sustainable content in a final product by tracer technology and validate claims by blockchain technology.
